{Daily Pics} Things That Make Me Smile

Fresh flowers, happy kids, family and food are guaranteed mood improvers for me. And movies. I do love watching movies—but that's not included in today's gallery of photos, so I digress.

Here's what's made me smile this week...

The play castle that the kids are hiding in was a $4.60 find at Stein Mart this week! And the baby doll that Trystan is playing with in the last photo was mine when I was her age and it's dressed in a onesie I also wore as a baby. My mom has a soft spot for her children's keepsakes and now some of those are being passed on to mine, which makes them extra special.

{Daily Pics} Reading & Watching + Video!

The babies are growing—not only are they getting taller and stronger, but they are becoming more independent, more active, more vocal! They are now literally watching our every move and intimating momma and daddy at every turn. It scares us almost as much as we love it! And they're taking in their surroundings with eyes wide open, eager to learn and try things for themselves. From flipping through thin magazine pages with impressive dexterity to all climbing into recliners together when their favorite show comes on, these sweet babies are keeping us on our toes!

And lest you think for a second that perhaps Kailey might not still be brazenly leading the pack, her wit and personality is enough to go around!

{Daily Pics} Fall, Y'all?

I finally decided it was fall. It's still 98 degrees outside here in Dallas, but a few leaves are starting to flutter to the ground and the weather man promises 92 as a high later this week. So maybe the season is tilting slightly toward the autumn time, as much of a tilt as can be provided by hot Texas temps. Which I love, by the way. I'm a warm weather gal through and through. I'd love to spend all my days slathered in tanning oil by a pool smelling coconut and drinking something cold. Something about having quadruplets, though, means that's no longer your daily reality. Ha! Here's some sneak peeks of some fall decor I managed to stick up around the house yesterday (with a post in more detail hopefully next week). Plus a photo of our whole fam at my cousin's wedding earlier this afternoon.
