Season's Greetings!

Wow, is it cold outside. I just returned from a mini shopping excursion (we're addicted to Primark!) and my hands and face are absolutely freezing... and I was dressed in three layers! We are puffing cold air even in the middle of the day now, and the sun is coming up a little later and going down a little sooner--around 3:30.

This weekend holds a very exciting event, my mom and step-dad arrive!!!!! They are actually at the London Heathrow airport as I type this, waiting to catch the 5:15 flight. If that doesn't prevail, then they'll be on the 8pm flight. They have been patient travelers, having left DFW yesterday evening and now spending all day at the airport in London. But my mom loves to travel just as much as I do and says they've been reading, napping and people watching in the airport. My step-dad, Louis Dean, hasn't flown since a mandated airplane ride when he served in the war, so this trip marks a lot of first experiences for him. Thanks to my older brother who works with American Airlines, they were able to fly business class on the way to London and I think LD might be just a bit spoiled after that! Needless to say, Mike and I are beyond excited for them to arrive and can't wait to spend nearly three weeks with them, showing them around Scotland and celebrating the holidays.

Tonight is a Christmas party for Mike's work group so I'll be at that for a few hours this evening then head back home in time to meet my mom and LD. It's an exciting time of year and we are looking forward to the rest of this month. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season!
